my heart leaps at this part. finally, we are able to see how much Howl has grown to understand the concept of true beauty, being that she is an old hag for most of this film and he STILL falls in love with her. rather than seeing the beauty-obsessed Howl who freaks out over his hair color, he knows that Sophie is truly a beautiful person.
